We welcome you to spend a unique holiday with us at Paliokaliva Village on Zakynthos. Our privately owned boutique hotel was created to share an authentic Zakynthian way of life with our guests.

Eighteen traditional stone-built villas, apartments and studios overlook the fresh greenery of our olive grove garden, a sociable gathering place for families and couples.

Inspiration

Paliokaliva means “the old hunters’ spot”

Authenticity begins with the name. Paliokaliva means “the old hunters’ spot” and refers to the peaceful hillside where the hotel stands.

The name is enriched by our logo. It is inspired by the ancient Mycenaean sign for “roof” from the Linear B tablets, the earliest known form of Greek writing. The sign recalls the wooden beams of a house roof, the same beams you will see above you in every one of our houses.

Every house has wooden beams and furniture handcrafted by local artisans. Designed for simplicity, the warm touch of traditional wood sits beside modern furnishings, with every comfort and convenience.

Traditionally, the Zante way of life is enjoyed outdoors, day and night. Our services and amenities follow the island’s open-air lifestyle, with facilities and activities to please couples and families.

The spacious olive grove garden delights the senses with the scent of jasmine and the vibrant colors of local flowers, with bougainvillea climbing beside old olive trees. It is the place where guests meet, rest and explore.

A place that brings people together

Paliokaliva is a family-run hotel, and our guests often tell us this is what they like most. We look after the village ourselves and enjoy getting to know the people who stay with us.

The houses are arranged around the garden, as in a real village, so it is easy to meet your neighbors. Events such as wine tastings and evenings of folk dancing bring everyone together and keep the island’s traditions alive.
